Syracuse Mets (12-33)
After 15 straight loses the Syracuse Mets finally won their 12th of the year. Brandon Drury hit a big 2 run homerun in the eight to give the Syracuse Mets a 9-8. Nick Tropeano got the win with 2 scoreless innings, getting the final out.
Drury went 3 for 5 overall, with 3 RBIs. Maybin and Puelo both drove in two. Cervenka homered.
Jesus Reyes allowed 3 runs over 5.2 innings, striking out 8 (Dilson Herrera got him on a Homer). Betances had a dreadful outing, allowing 3 runs on 2 walks and a HBP, getting just one out.
Binghamton Rumble Ponies (13-31)
The Rumble Ponies couldn’t hold a 5-1 lead, after allowing 7 runs in the 7th. The Fightin Phils hold that 8-5 lead to beat the Ponies.
Mark Vientos kept his great June going with a 2 for 4 day. Vientos hit one double and drove in one run. Carlos Cortes and Manny Rodriguez homered.
Cole Gordon pitched well, but got into trouble in the seventh. He allowed 4 runs (3 earned) on just 2 hits. Dan Goggin couldn’t put out the fire allowing 4 runs, getting two outs to end the seventh.
Brooklyn Cyclones (15-28)
The Cyclones beat the BlueClaws 7-2 as Francisco Alvarez returned to the lineup. Alvarez celebrated his return with his 7th homerun of the year, a 2 run shot in the eight.
Jeremy Vasquez also had a big game with a homerun and three runs batted in.
LT Struble gave the Cyclones the lead in the third with a 2 run triple.
Cam Opp was solid allowing just 2 runs on 3 hits in 5.2 strong innings. Josh Hejika struck out 4 over 2.1 scoreless frames to prevail the lead.
St. Lucie Mets (25-21)
The St. Lucie Mets swept the Doubleheader against the Dunedin Blue Jays.
Game One:
Oscar Rojas shined in game one with a complete game 4 hit shutout. The 22 year old pitched 7 innings allowing just 1 walk, while striking out 9. He lowered his ERA to 0.98.
Jaylen Palmer kept on hitting going 2 for 2 with a triple and RBI. Brandon Fryman homered in the shutout victory.
Game Two:
In game two the St. Lucie Mets beat Dunedin 3-2 after Jose Peroza bases loaded walk in the sixth. Alex Ramirez tied the game with his second triple of the year in the fourth. Jose Peroza had two of the three RBI with the Bases Loaded walk in the sixth and RBI Double in the opening inning.
Franklyn Parra was solid over 4 innings of 2 run (1 earned) ball. Luis Montas got the win as his great year continued. He threw three hitless innings for the win.
