The Mets lost to the Cardinals 14-9, however in every game, there are some positives. That’s even more the case in Spring Training, with all those player switches. So who did make a good impression, even with the loss?

Brett Baty:

Baty had the highest batted ball in play by any Met, as his 2 run double was clocked at 107.4 mph off the bat. Another positive on Baty his lone at bat, was him going the other way.

Kevin Pillar:

Pillar went two for two with two extra base hits and a walk. His first inning triple looked like a homerun on TV, but without replay available, he had to settle for a triple. Solid 100.1 MPH off the bat for the Pillar triple, got it done.

Luis Guillorme:

Guillorme did what Guillorme does. Hitting the ball to all fields and finding spots, were players aren’t playing. He went 2 for 3 with two hits that didn’t reach 92 MPH off the bat. It shows the ability of Guillorme.

J.D. Davis:

J.D. Davis went 2-3, just like Guillorme. Davis collected two batted balls of 100mph or higher (1B and GO), but got his RBI on his slowest batted ball (86.1MPH). He also made all the plays flawlessly at third.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
