According to Ken Rosenthal the Mets have agreed to sign Albert Almora jr. The defensive specialist is under control until 2022 and has a minor league option left.

Almora hasn’t been great with the bat, but has been very solid with the glove. Since 2017 he has collected 14 OAA in center field. However his bat is light as he has hit just .230/.270/.366 over the last two seasons. In from 16-18 he hit .289/.326/.412 over 331 games.

Almora would likely be a defensive replacement type player the Mets had for years. As he is just 26 years old with cheap control, it’s a solid move to sure up the bench. Good way to fill the Marisnick role.
