The New York Mets are in need of starting pitching. Here’s what a possible Trevor Bauer signing could and could not help with for a team that is in dire need of another ace.

The good: Plenty of good things when you look at his 2020 pitching performance. A 2.7 WAR, 0.795 WHIP, 1.73 ERA, 5-4 record.

His 2019 wasn’t as great, however. In 2019, Bauer had a 6.39 ERA, with a 2-5 record.

Career wise, Bauer, in 9 years has a 3.90 ERA and a 75-64 record.

The bad: Bauer’s social media habits must be taken into consideration. While sometimes fans say nasty things on social media, it’s important that high profiled athletes maintain their composure and don’t give the attention seeker what they are looking for, fame on someone else’s dime.

Bauer must keep it calm and classy if he becomes a New York Met. Otherwise, fans will be all over him in the comments.

A bonus: I think Bauer will, no doubt, be able to handle the New York Media. He has a very strong mentality.

The pros outweigh the cons. It would be a huge plus to have Bauer don the Orange and Blue.
