With the New York Mets suffering two tough blows to the rotation by losing Noah Syndergaard for the season as well as Marcus Stroman making his way to the IL, Michael Wacha will go from the long man in the pen to the fourth starter in line.

In 2019, Wacha played in 29 games and owned a 4.76 ERA as well as a 1.56 WHIP in 126.2 innings pitched. He finished the season with a mediocre 6-7 win/loss record. Nicknamed “Wachamole”, the Mets need for Wacha to bring consistency to the starting rotation without being slapped around like a children’s game at the state fair.

The Red Sox plan to put left hander Josh Osich on the bump, his first Major League start as Osich is normally a relief pitcher. The left hander has appeared in one game so far this season and pitched a scoreless inning while striking out a batter.

Tonight’s game will be held at Fenway park in Boston and is slated for first pitch at 7:35 PM Eastern Standard Time. The game will be televised on SNY as well as nationally broadcasted on ESPN.

In addition, the Mets have also called up Tyler Bashlor and have added Daniel Zamora and David Peterson to the taxi-squad. Peterson could potentially step in as tomorrow’s starting pitcher as well as Erasmo Ramirez.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
