Soon to be Free Agent reliever Brad Brach is a familiar name and face however spent a majority of the 2019 season with the Chicago Cubs and didn’t exactly have much success in his 42 game tenure with Chicago. He would eventually catch his pink slip and get released on August 5th, however the New York Mets would sign him three days later.

While pitching for the Orange & Blue, Brach enjoyed much more success with the change of scenery. He pitched in 16 games and posted a 3.68 ERA with a 1-1 record in 14.2 innings and struck out 15 batters.

In 2016, Brach was the set up man to then Baltimore Orioles closer Zach Britton and earned himself a spot on the American League All-Star team, which is quite an achievement as relief pitcher that doesn’t close games. That ’16 season, Brach owned a 10-4 record with a 2.05 ERA while striking out an outstanding 92 batters in 79.0 innings pitched.

While it’s highly improbable that the right hander could repeat such an amazing year, it wouldn’t be crazy to see him pitching close to his career numbers. Per every 162 games, Brach averages a 5-4 record with a 3.33 ERA and 76 strikeouts in 72 innings and will likely be going into his tenth Major League season however that’s for the Free Agent market to determine.
