New York Mets super utility man Jeff McNeil was asked about Pete Alonso’s 50th home run of the year and the pure hitting McNeil had this for the media, “I think mine went farther.”

He went on to add “Where Pete hit that ball tonight was pretty unbelievable, it’s some of the most impressive power I ever saw… that’s number 50 tonight and I’m super happy for Pete.”

SNY field reporter Steve Gelbs asked if McNeil was surprised with how quickly Alonso has been able to accomplish his feats since both players played a great deal together in the Minor League’s and McNeil responded “Oh, not at all.”
