As reported by Ken Rosenthal, third base coach Joey Cora is leaving the Mets to join the Tigers’ coaching staff. Cora might have arguably been the best third base coach since the days of Cookie Rojas’ tenure.

Without a doubt, he’s passionate about the sport and it shows. That kind of fire won’t be easy to replicate but with a new manager taking over, changes are to be expected.

Also in the N.L. East, Bryce Harper plans to move to first base permanently. Dave Dombrowski, the GM of the clown Philadelphia Phillies said today that he sees Harper as a Gold Glove caliber first baseman… we’ll see.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
