Mets & Alonso avoid Arbitration

First baseman Pete Alonso and the New York Mets are in agreement on a one-year, $7.4 million contract to avoid arbitration, sources familiar with the deal tell ESPN.

Alonso is well deserved of a raise. The New York Mets first baseman has always shown to be a hard worker and has even stated recently that his goal is to walk away with a Gold Glove.

The slugger sported a 4.2 WAR with a .262/.344/.519/.863 slash line alongside 37 home runs and 94 RBI’s.
