The Mets beat the Braves 4-3 in the opening game of a three game series in Atlanta. After the offense was stymied over 6 innings, the bats woke up in the seventh.

James McCann hit a huge game tying three run homerun. It was McCann his 7th of the year. Most likely the biggest of his Mets tenure so far.

After Peraza doubled, Lindor got him home with a 2 out RBI Single to give the Mets the lead.

Trevor May, Seth Lugo and Edwin Diaz closed out the game to get the one run victory. Drew Smith got the win after a scoreless sixth.

Tylor Megill was solid over 5 innings of three run ball, striking out 8. Only blemish was an Ozzie Albies 3 run homerun.

The Mets will try to make it two in a row with David Peterson facing Max Fried.
