MetsJunkies MiLB Recap: Offensive Explosion in Brooklyn Behind Baty Strong Day

Syracuse Mets (2-12)

The depleted Syracuse Mets lost their 6th in a row on Wednesday in a blow out 16-1 loss to the IronPigs. J.D. Davis collected a hit in his rehab stint. Drew Ferguson collected 3 hits.

Yamamoto pitched two innings, before leaving the game. Most likely because the Mets will bring him up to pitch this weekend. The bullpen struggled with Oscar de la Cruz allowing the most runs (6 earned).

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (1-12)

The Rumble Ponies lost to the SeaWolves 5-4, besides outhitting the opposition 11-7.

Shortstop Yoel Romero collected 3 hits and an RBI. He is hitting .448 with a 1129 OPS. Mark Vientos collected 2 hits and a RBI, improving his average to .178 with a .591 OPS.

Tony Dibrell pitched 4 strong innings, allowing just 1 run on 2 hits, striking out 5. Andrew Mitchell allowed 2 runs in the bottom of the ninth for the blown save/loss.

Brooklyn Cyclones (5-8)

The Brooklyn Cyclones blow out the Renegades 14-0. Brett Baty was the big man going 4 for 5 with a double and 4 runs batted in. Baty is hitting. 425 with a 1070 OPS.

Ronny Mauricio extended his hitting streak to 11 with a double in 5 at bats. Joe Genord and Jake Mangum had big games as well.

Oscar Rojas pitched well for four scoreless innings. Bryce Montes de Oca kept his scoreless inning streak going with a scoreless ninth.

St. Lucie Mets (10-4)

The St. Lucie Mets stayed hot with help from reinforcements on rehab assignments. Noah Syndergaard got the start and was great for 4 scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, no walks and striking out 5.

After Noah the St. Lucie Mets struggled to held a big lead, but just did enough, winning 11-8. Zack Ashford and Matt Dyer collected two hits, Warren Saunders drove in three and Jaylen Palmer scored 3 runs.
