The New York Mets will host the Baltimore Orioles to kick off the series in a treat of a pitching matchup.
The Mets plan to send right-hander Marcus Stroman to the mound, making his seventh appearance of the season. The New York native is 3-3 with a 2.12 ERA in 34.0 innings pitched.
Stroman did well in his last outing as he pitched five innings, surrendering three hits and two unearned runs. While he ended up picking up the loss, Stroman showed signs of getting back on track.
The Baltimore Orioles will have John Means on the hill, a lefty that is coming off of tossing a no-hitter. This will be the Mets’ second time seeing Means, this first being in 2020. The team is hitting .256/.289/.488/.777 in a total of 43 at-bats.
This season, Means owns a 4-0 record with a 1.37 ERA, while striking out 50 in 46.0 innings pitched.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST and will be televised locally on SNY.
