The Mets beat the Astros behind a very strong Joey Lucchesi. The lefty made his final bid to make the ball club in a 8-3 Mets Victory.
Pitching Lines:
Jacob Barnes: IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
Joey Lucchesi: 4.2IP, 3H, ER, BB, 4K
Aaron Loup: 0.1IP, 0H, 0R
Trevor May: IP, H, ER, 0BB, 2K
Oscar de la Cruz: IP, H, ER, BB, K
Jerry Blevins: IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 2K
Jacob Barnes got the start as an opener and it worked out great. Barnes started with a perfect frame striking out 2.
Lucchesi did fair well after the opener on going 4.2 very strong innings. His only blemish, a solo shot from Bregman. Lucchesi has a 2.77 ERA this spring.
Offensive numbers:
Francisco Lindor: 3-3, 3RBIs, BB, SB
Dom Smith: 2-4, HR, 2RBIs, 2R
Pete Alonso: 1-4, HR, 2RBIs, R, K
Lindor keeps raking and hopefully he is close to an extenstion. Alonso and Smith showed power in the 8-3 win.
The Mets also showed some good defense in the victory. Both McNeil and Lindor showed their glove in the win. A big improvement for the Mets.
