The Mets beat the Astros 8-3 yesterday.

Pitching Lines:

Jacob deGrom: 4IP, 2H, 1R, 1ER, 0BB, 6K. 1.00 ERA

deGrom allowed his first run on a wind aided homerun in the third. He did got some help from his outfield defense in the fourth with Nimmo robbing Bregman of a homerun.

Jeurys Familia: IP, H, 0R, 2BB, 0K. 0.00 ERA

Familia got himself in and out of trouble in the fifth. Walks are an issue with Familia this spring

Dellin Betances: IP, H, 2R, 2ER, BB, K. 13.50 ERA

Betances struggles continue in another subpar outing. The velo was down since his last outing and he just doesn’t get any swing and misses. Major concern going into the season.

Trevor May: IP, 0H, 0R, BB, 3K. 4.50 ERA

May has struck out 5 batter over 4 innings pitched so far this spring.

Miguel Castro: IP, 0H, 0R, 0BB, 2K. 0.00 ERA.

Miguel Castro is showing his true potential this spring. He has allowed just one walk over 4 innings, without allowing a hit.

Sam McWilliams: IP, 0H, 0R, BB, K. 0.00 ERA

McWilliams was send down to AAA after the game. He didn’t allow a run but his control was off. I do see the potential in him striking out 4 over 3 innings. If he gets his control, we have something.

Offense:

Francisco Lindor: 2-3, HR, 2RBI, 2R, BB (.227avg/684OPS)

Lindor is starting to hit, as he collected his first homerun as a Met.

Dom Smith: 1-3, 3 run HR (.182avg/.636OPS)

Dom Smith connected on his second homerun of the spring.

Pete Alonso: 3-3, HR, 2B, RBI, BB, R. (.417avg/.1492OPS)

Pete keeps crushing the baseball. Nothing more to add

The Mets will face the Marlins at 1.05 EST. Lucchesi will get the start.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
