Next starter up for the MetsJunkies Predictions is new starter Carlos “Cookie” Carrasco.

Corne Hogeveen:

Carlos Carrasco has been as consistent as they come in the majors. After 2020, I have no reason to think Carrasco won’t have a typical Carrasco season.

13-9, 3.34 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, 185IP

Del Alba:

Carrasco has always been an underrated arm due to how great other CLE pitchers have been. He brings a nice K/9 clip and maintains a decent ERA and respectable for WHIP. Pitching in NY will definitely boost Carrasco value especially with a Pitching rotation in need of help. I will omit W and L projections because to me they’re pointless on valuing a pitchers success. Carlos will be a great K-out artist but will need to minimize his walk rate.

180 IP, 3.40 ERA, 190 K, 46 BB, 1.29 WHIP,

Gem Tablak:

People all around are loving the move of the Mets acquiring starter Cookie Carrasco. One of those people are Trevor Bauer, which makes sense since his curveball was amongst the best of 2020.

Carrasco also ranks 8th in FIP, 4th in XFIP, 9th in K-BB%, and 4th in SwStr% (H/T to Mathew Brownstein).

I see Cookie going 12-11 with an ERA of 3.49, 1.27, in 178 innings pitched.
