James McCann is now officially a member of the New York Mets. The holdup was a common physical which he’s evidently passed.

“James has established himself as one of the best dual-threat catchers in the game,” Sandy Alderson said in a statement, recognizing McCann’s “leadership and presence in the clubhouse” as “instrumental.”

McCann will take over the starting catcher role as Nido will be once again related to being the backup.
