New York Mets starting pitcher and Long Island native Marcus Stroman spoke to the media about his impending free agency.
“I think I should be one of the top arms. I think I’m one of the youngest. I’m extremely healthy. I’m coming off a great year. So however it plays out, it will play out.”
“I’m going to be an untapped potential once I’m truly settled… That’s going to do wonders for my mind, my body, my pitching ability, everything.”
Stroman was acquired from the Toronto Blue Jays for left handed pitcher Anthony Kay as well as highly touted right handed prospect Simeon Woods-Richardson as a contingency plan to Wheeler’s departure.
The fiery right-hander is destined to be a free agent at the end of the 2020 season and it’s hard to gauge if and how Free Agency will change after the COVID pandemic.
