Jeff McNeil hit a two-run home run off of Rockies pitcher Antonio Senzatela in the top half of the third to give the Mets the 3-1 lead. The 2-run shot counts as his 21st home run of the 2019 campaign, he hit 3 in 2018. McNeil would end up going 2-5 and is now batting .319 on the season.

Unfortunately, it’s wouldn’t be enough for the Mets to cement a victory as they would end up losing 9-4 in the opener. The Mets are currently 5.0 games out of the second Wild Card spot and tied with the Philadelphia Phillies.

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
