The newly acquired second baseman for the New York Mets Joe Panik has hit his first home run as a Met, a 2-run shot to put the Mets up by three in the fourth inning. The home run came off of Max Scherzer and the Washington Nationals in the midst of a playoff hunt.

Coming into tonight’s contest, Panik was batting .260/.308/.342/.650 in 22 games and 73 at-bats while wearing the Orange & Blue.
