Pete Alonso sure has made a name for himself in New York City, hell, he’s already nationally recognized as an elite slugger and a player that’s passionate about winning and the fanbase.

After tying the New York Mets franchise home run record, the Polar Bear has this to say about the achievement, “It’s really hard to explain, it was nuts… as soon as the ball left the bat, I knew it, and the fans went absolutely nuts.”

The first baseman added “It was a hell of an environment tonight and that moment was extremely special, I couldn’t have dreamt it up any better.”

Alonso went on to tell Steve Gelbs, “This is my life’s work”
