The Mets lost a tough contest last night against the Pirates after gaining the lead earlier on in the game. The loss also put an end to the Orange & Blue’s win streak at seven games so New York will look to bounce back tonight with a struggling Chris Archer on the hill for Pittsburgh.
Marcus Stroman will make his New York Mets debut tonight against the Pirates and so far this season, Stroman has pitched to a 2.96 ERA but in almost a “Jacob deGrom” fashion while he owns a 6-11 win/loss record. The Long Island native has struck out 99 batters in 124.2 innings pitched.
While Archer has provided the Pirates with two straight quality starts coming into tonight’s game, he’s still been struggling mightily since being traded over to Pittsburgh from Tampa Bay during last year’s trade deadline. The pitcher is 3-8 with a 5.58 ERA and has 116 strikeouts in 101.2 innings pitched. He’s also allowed the most home runs throughout Major League Baseball.
