McNeil exits game

New York Mets second baseman Jeff McNeil, who was serving as the DH on Sunday afternoon, has been taken out of the game. McNeil will be replaced by catcher Patrick Mazeika as the DH.

McNeil is leaving the game due to tightness is his left hamstring.

MetsJunkies Recap: Mazeika Does it Again

Mets beat the Orioles 3-2 on jet another walk off fielders choice by Patrick Maizeka. Maizeka is the first player in the last 100 years to have two walk off RBIs before collecting their first MLB hit.

Marcus Stroman got the start and he was splendid over 6.1 innings of one run ball. He allowed just 4 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 5. Loup allowed an inherited runner to score on a sac fly.

The Orioles got an extra run after a scary moment with Albert Almora Jr. The Mets center fielder ran hard, face first into the wall to try and catch Hays his triple. The ball popped out of the glove on the impact, which was severe. Luckily Almora was able to walk off on his own.

Trevor May struck out the next two but Freddy Galvis laid down a perfect 2 out bunt to score Hays to make it 2-0.

Michael Conforto got a run back in the eight with a RBI single, followed by a Familia clean ninth.

Then started the bottom of the ninth. The Mets faced veteran César Valdez who throws mostly change-ups below 80 mph. It didn’t have a ton of success against the Mets. Pillar started with a single (after almost going yard), Villar singled to follow and Smith drove in the tying run with a RBI single.

It was left to Patrick Maizeka again. And he dribbled one to first base this time, which scored Villar who got a terrific jump from third to score. Mets Walk it Off for their 6 win in a row.

The bad news, McNeil and Almora both leaving the game due to injury, with already a lot of injuries in the lineup.

The Mets will face their old Friend Matt Harvey at Citi Field Wednesday afternoon. A 12.10 start to see the Dark Knight vs. The Skywalker
