The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Matt Breen is reporting that Phillies brass will hold their second interviews for three separate candidates. Buck Showalter, Dusty Baker, and Joe Girardi will each interview for the job and the Phillies are said to want to make a decision soon, so that may add pressure on one of the three candidates.
All three names were also linked to the Mets.
Reports formerly said that both Joe Girardi and Carlos Beltran really wanted the position as New York Mets manager.

Before Monday afternoon’s press conference, Brodie Van Wagenen stated to the media that him and the Front Office are completely behind Mets manager Mickey Callaway. Brodie mentioned that this message doesn’t only apply to Mickey, but the entirety of the coaching staff, as well.
Now, if Callaway was in hot water with management and ownership, I wouldn’t expect anyone from the organization to announce such a thing. So that leads me to wonder how genuine the statement coming BVW really is. And listen, by no means can I blame him for how he answered the media’s questions in regards to Callaway,
However, Andy Martino is reporting that Brodie Van Wagenen and the Mets Front Office is considering Buck Showalter, Dusty Baker, and former Mets 3rd baseman Robin Ventura.
All three names would be a discussion worth while.
