The New York Mets continue to be super aggressive as they’ve just signed Carlos Correa to a 12 year deal worth $315M.
Correa will likely slide over to third base for the next decade, putting a question mark next to prospects like Brett Baty and Ronny Mauricio.
This of course comes hours after a deal with the San Francisco Giants fell through potentially due to a failed physical.
With the Minnesota Twins, Correa hit .291/.366/.467/.834 with 22 home runs and 64 RBI’s in 522 at bats during the 2022 campaign.
The dynamic infielder from Ponce, Puerto Rico has an amazing relationship with fellow countryman Francisco Lindor, which had a tremendous impact on his making this decision.
The two are projected to combine for 40 home runs and 145 RBI’s this upcoming year, which is ridiculously underestimated. Both players are still in their late 20’s as Lindor is 29 and Correa 28 years of age.
Merry fuckin’ Christmas!
