MetsJunkies Recap: Prospect Galore

During the time Mets fans waited patiently on the deGrom update, the Mets played a game against the Cardinals. A lot of regulars started the game, but in the third inning, the Game got into a rain delay. The Mets end up losing the Game 7-2.

After the rain delay, the regulars were replaced and a lot of young minor league prospects came in. Alex Ramirez was the best prospect that got Game action and he collected a nice opposite field hit.

Wyatt Young was the star for the Mets as he went 2 for 3, with both Mets runs driven in. The 2021 15th round pick has a terrific pro debut year and shows it off during Spring Training.

On the pitching side, the Mets gave the start to Felix Pena in place of deGrom. Pena allowed 3 runs in 2 innings of work. The Mets got scoreless outings from Alex Claudio, Drew Smith (both 1 inning) and Sean Reid-Foley (2 innings). Both Ottavino and Collin Holderman allowed 2 runs in their inning.

The Mets are off today and will play the Marlins on Sunday at Port St. Lucie. Game wi start at 1.10pm.
