The Cubs will receive highly touted centerfield prospect PCA (Pete Crow-Armstrong) in the deal while the Mets will also acquire RHP Trevor Williams. For the Mets to just part with one prospect from the their top 10 is pretty amazing, considering the talent heading back to New York.
Baez, currently owns a slash line of .292/.303/.484/.775 on the 2021 campaign with 22 Home runs and 65 RBI’s to go alongside 13 stolen bases.
Rojas will now have another big bat for the top/middle of this lineup with a well-enough glove to cover either second or third, after covering for Francisco Lindor at shortstop.
