Syracuse Mets (23-43)

The Syracuse Mets got clobbered by the Bisons 14-1. The only run came on Albert Almora his solo homerun. Syracuse collected just 3 hits in the blow out loss.

Albert Almora: 1 for 4, HR, RBI .275avg/.852OPS

Carrasco got the start and struggled. He allowed 3 homeruns, allowing 5 runs total in 1.2 innings. Carrasco threw 41 pitches, just 23 strikes. After Jesus Reyes got the bulk out of the pen, position player Drew Jackson got an inning and allowed 4 runs.

Carlos Carrasco: 1.2IP, 3H, 5ER, 3BB, 1K. 27.00 ERA (L, 0-1)

Jesus Reyes: 5.1IP, 7H, 5ER, 4BB, 8K. 6.75 ERA

Drew Jackson: IP, 4H, 4ER, 1BB. 18.00 ERA

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (24-40)

The Rumble Ponies couldn’t overcome an eight run third inning in a 13-7 loss to the SeaWolves.

Wagner Lagrange: 2 for 5, HR, RBI .277avg/.744OPS

Carlos Cortes: 1 for 5, HR, 3RBI .256avg/.815OPS

Matt Winaker: 2 for 4, 2B, RBI .265avg/.733OPS

Luc Rennie and Riley Gilliam struggled in the early innings. Tommy Wilson, Andrew Edwards and Tom Hackimer combined for 5 hitless innings.

Brooklyn Cyclones (23-42)

The Cyclones beat the Blue Rocks 8-6, making their hits count as the Cyclones collected just 5 hits.

Francisco Alvarez: 1 for 4, HR, 3RBI .220avg/.800OPS

Ronny Mauricio: 2 for 4, 3RBI .243avg/.719OPS

Jaison Vilera got the win, allowing 4 runs over 5 innings of work. Josh Hejika got the final out for the save.

St. Lucie Mets (35-32)

The St. Lucie Mets lost 8-6 to the Maraunders, besides Jaylen Palmer first homerun of the year.

Luis Moreno got the start and was solid over 4 innings. The bullpen struggled besides Collin Holderman.

  1. It sounds like Carrasco was having problems locating his pitches. Let him get another start or two to determine if this was just a bad night or a pattern. If his pitch location improves/returns to how he has done in the past then I am not worried. Sometimes pitchers can throw a pitch exactly where he wants it but the batter just happens to beat the perfect pitch.

      Personally. I am not worried at all. Long lay off, probably trying to throw all of his pitches in any count for the first time (assumption as I didn’t watch). Control seemed off which can happen. It’s like a Spring Training outing for me.

      In a perfect world you give him one of two outings, but you might need him in Mondays Doubleheader with all the pitching the Mets need. It’s a difficult call
