Syracuse Mets (21-41)
The Syracuse Mets split a Doubleheader against the Red Wings on Wednesday.
Game one:
Syracuse lost the opener 9-4 besides homeruns from Chance Sisco and J.D. Davis. Overall Syracuse collected just 5 hits without any multi hit games.
Jesus Reyes dropped to 0-8 after allowing 5 runs over 6 innings of work.
Game two:
Game two went to Syracuse on a 7-5 win. Cheslor Cuthbert was the big man going 2 for 2 with 2 homeruns and 3 RBI’s.
Cameron Maybin had a 3 hits game, driving in one run and Orlando Calixte drove in two with a 2 run double.
Nick Tropeano got the start allowing just one run in 3.1 innings. Hartlieb struggled allowing 3 runs and Roney got the blown save allowing another run in a 4 run 5th. After the offense got the lead back, Nogosek saved it in the seventh.
Binghamton Rumble Ponies (22-37)
The Rumble Ponies lost to the Altoona Curve 10-3. Jake Mangum doubled twice and drove in a run. Baty collected a double in his AA debut.
Carlos Cortes homered in the loss. It was Cortes his 10th of the season. In some bad news, Vientos left the game after he got hit on the left hand.
Dustin Beggs allowed 6 runs in 5.2 innings, allowing 10 hits. Hackimer didn’t fair better as he allowed 4 runs in 2.1 innings.
Brooklyn Cyclones (20-40)
The Cyclones lost to the BlueClaws 3-2. Ronny Mauricio drove in both runs with a double, going 2 for 3 on the day. The Cyclones collected just 4 total hits.
Jose Butto was strong going 5.2 innings, allowing just 2 runs on 3 hits. He allowed just 1 walk, while striking out 4.
St. Lucie Mets (33-29)
The St. Lucie Mets swept a Doubleheader against Palm Beach Cardinals.
Game one:
St. Lucie Mets got game one with a 6-3 win. Warren Saunders and Branden Fryman both collected two hits and a RBI.
The St. Lucie Mets went with a bullpen day in game one. Strong outings from Austin Faith, Colin Holderman and Reyson Santos were important after Luis Moreno struggled.
Game two:
St. Lucie won game two 4-2 after a big 3 run homerun from Matt O’Neil in the sixth to give St. Lucie the lead.
Alex Ramirez went 2 for 3 and Omar de los Santos went 2 for 3 with a RBI in his debut for St. Lucie.
Junior Santos pitched well over 6 innings of two run ball. He allowed 7 hits and 4 walks, but was able to limit the damage.
Luis Montas got the save with a scoreless seventh.
