MetsJunkies MiLB Recap: Worley Shines in Syracuse Win

Syracuse Mets (15-37)

The Syracuse Mets beat the Red Wings 4-2. JD Davis went 1 for 3 with a RBI Double in his rehab game.

Brandon Drury went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI. Wilfredo Tovar also doubled in a 2 for 3 day.

The story of the day was Vance Worley, who pitched eight strong innings, allowing just one run on 6 hits. Worley walked just one and struck out 4. Stephen Nogosek got the save.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (18-34)

The Rumble Ponies lost 12-5, besides a 4 RBI day from Mark Vientos. Vientos went 3 for 4 with his 13th homerun and a double. He is hitting .283 with a .949 OPS.

Luc Rennie struggled allowing 7 runs in 3.1 innings of work. The bullpen put gasoline on the fire with 5 runs over 4.1 innings of work.

Brooklyn Cyclones (18-34)

The Cyclones lost to the IronBirds 7-2. Luke Ritter had himself a moment, homering against 2019 all star, John Means. He went 2 for 3 with that solo homerun.

Alec Kisena allowed 6 runs in 4.2 innings of work.

St. Lucie Mets (28-26)

The St. Lucie Mets lost a close one to the Threshers 3-2 as Willy Taveras allowed a walk off sac fly in the ninth.

The St. Lucie Mets offense collected just 4 hits, with McIlwain and Palmer driving in the only runs. Palmer RBI triple tied it in the sixth and McIlwain RBI single gave St. Lucie the lead in the seventh. A lead the bullpen couldn’t hold.

David Griffin was tremendous, going 6 innings of one run ball. He allowed just 2 hits and 2 walks, while striking out 8
