The 41-35 New York Mets will play the last of a three-game set against the 38-41 Atlanta Braves. After losing Wednesday’s contest in a blowout (20-2) at Citi, the Mets look to take the series on the finale.
Tonight’s contest will feature a two-time Cy Young and a Hall of Fame’r in the making. Jacob deGrom will hit the hill for the Mets, looking to improve his 7-2 record as well as his immaculate 0.69 ERA.
deGrom’s last outing came against the Phillies back at Citi Field, and was solid. He went on to throw 6.0 innings as he only gave up two runs on three hits and one walk. He also struck out five, increasing his season totals to 122 in 78.0 innings pitched.
The Atlanta Braves will have 23-year old local Ian Anderson on the mound, a former first round pick (3rd Overall) of the Braves in the 2016 draft. In his last start, Anderson pitched six innings while giving up three runs in a loss against the Cincinnati Reds.
Anderson, so far is having an above average season, pitching to a 3.42 ERA while owning a 5-4 record. The Rexford, New York native has also struck out 88 batters in 81.2 innings pitched, so far this season.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:20 PM EST and will be televised locally on SNY.
