MetsJunkies MiLB Recap: Brodey Clutch Homerun Helps Syracuse to Victory

Syracuse Mets (11-18)

The Syracuse Mets beat the Bisons 7-6, behind a 4 run 6th highlighted by Quinn Brodey his 3 run homer. Syracuse collected just 6 hits, but got help with 8 walks. Kahlil hit his sixth double of the year. He is hitting. 333 with a .1068 OPS.

Jerad Eickhoff couldn’t get his strong period of starts going, allowing 6 runs on 9 hits in 6 innings of work. Eickhoff did get the Win as Stephen Tarpley, Sean Reid-Foley and Yennsy Diaz shut it down with a perfect frame a piece.

Binghamton Rumble Ponies (8-20)

The Rumble Ponies winning streak got snapped at four after an 8-3 loss to the Fisher Cats.

Vientos went 1 for 4 with his sixth double of the year. Oscar de la Cruz struggled in his relief outing allowing 5 runs in 2.2 innings (all five runs came in the eight).

Brooklyn Cyclones (9-17)

The Cyclones lost after failing to hold a 4-0 lead in the eight. Parsons allowed 2 runs in the eight and Ragan allowed three in the ninth for a 5-4 loss.

Ronny Mauricio homered for his second straight game for a three run homer in the first. It was Mauricio his sixth homerun of the year.

Joe Genord also hit his sixth, a solo shot in the fourth.

Baty went 1 for 3 and Alvarez went 1 for 4. Alvarez also showed his terrific arm with a pick-off at first.

Alec Kisena was dominant over 5 hitless innings. He allowed just one walk, while striking out 5 in his start. The 25 year old has struck out 22 in 16.2 innings.

St. Lucie Mets (16-13)

The St. Lucie Mets struggles continue with a 9-4 loss to the Mighty Mussels. Matt O’Neil had a strong showing going 2 for 2, with his first Homerun of the year.

Junior Santos allowed 5 runs (1 earned) over 4 innings as the St. Lucie Mets made 7 errors in the game. Liam McCall kept his strong year going with two hitless innings with 3 strikeouts. He allowed an unearned run thanks to the very shaky defense. McCall lowered his ERA to 0.77 in 11.2 innings.
