St. Lucie Mets (11-4)
The poor Palm Beach Cardinals. After facing Lugo and Syndergaard, they had the pleasure of facing the games best in a rehab start. deGrom went 3 hitless innings, with 8 strikeouts and no walks. Kudos to the 2 guys who got the ball in play. The Cardinals weren’t able to take advantage of the other pitchers they faced, getting shutout by the St. Lucie Mets 7-0.
After deGrom, the St. Lucie Mets got 5 scoreless innings from Justin Lasko, who lowered his ERA to 2.40. He struck out 6, allowing just 2 hits and 2 walks.
Zach Ashford collected three hits and drove in 2. He is hitting .354 with a 904 OPS. Top prospect Francisco Alvarez had another 2 hit game, going 2 for 4 with a RBI. He is hitting .459 with a 1229 OPS.
Kudos to the Palm Beach Cardinals Twitter people, who created a lot of funny tweets.
