The Arizona Diamondbacks are in town to take on our New York Mets, and after losing the first game to our boys, the D’Backs will look to even things up. Currently 15-17, Arizona is in fourth place in the NL West while also sitting four games back as the Mets are just one back in the NL East.
The Diamondbacks will send right-hander Merrill Kelly to the hill as he looks to get his winning percentage over .500. The Houstonian owns a 5.79 ERA in 32.2 innings pitched while striking out 24 of his opponents.
In 2019, the Mets hit .281 off of the righty with Pete Alonso going yard twice. Lifetime, Kelly owns a 18-18 record with a 4.37 ERA in 247.1 innings pitched while having struck out 211 in 43 appearances.
The New York Mets will have Tommy Hunter on the hill, making his first start of the 2021 campaign. However, this would be his second appearance, already having pitched two scoreless innings.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:10 PM EST and will be televised locally on SNY.
