The Philadelphia Phillies will host the Mets to kick off the series as well as a seven-game road trip. The Mets and Phillies, along with the Braves, are currently locked in a three-way tie for first place in the NL east standings with the Nationals and Marlins right behind.
The Mets plan to send right-hander Marcus Stroman to the mound, making his fifth appearance of the season. The New York native is 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA in 24.0 innings pitched.
Stroman was hit hard his last time around as he surrendered five runs (four earned), in just four innings pitched. In April, Stroman has only allowed one home run as well as a total of six earned runs. He’s been a strong number two pitcher behind Jacob deGrom.
The Philadelphia Phillies will have Chase Anderson on the hill, a righty with a 6.48 ERA. This will be the Mets’ third time seeing Anderson this season, however the team is only hitting .156 off of the right-hander.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM EST and will be televised locally on WPIX.
