MetsJunkies Predictions: Brandon Nimmo

Been a while since we had our latest prediction posts, but with the roster fairly set and spring training coming up, we want to get our predictions game juiced up again. This article is about the Mets CF’er Brandon Nimmo.

Michael: I am anticipating a big breakout year from Brandon Nimmo this year. He has shown signs of greatness when he plays every day. The only major issue he has had was not keeping up because he wasn’t starting every game. His OBP is going to be very good this year in his first full season as the Mets leadoff hitter.

.312 AVG .400 OBP .466 SLG 18 HR 60 RBI

Del: Playing time is going to be the biggest factor on his projections. He appears to be the favorite for the CF starting job, but with the addition of Almora Jr and Kevin Pillar, he’s going to have to work hard to earn playing time. That being said, I still see him as an impactful OBP machine on the top of the lineup.

.290/.400/.450 with 17 HR 55 RBI

Gem: It’s so interesting how we (or I) keep coming across the subject of him possibly being a fourth OF, he’s not. He’s a corner OF with an impeccable ability for getting on the bags on a Votto-like level… almost. Let’s hope he pulls a few more jacks over the right field wall this year.

.258/.382/.462 21 HR’s with 66 RBI’s.

Corné: I really like Nimmo. Yes the defense is iffy, but the bat is really good. Nimmo is my lead off hitter, with his great OBP skills at the top of the lineup. I expect Nimmo to keep his great slash line up in 2021.

.266/.383/.436 with 15 homeruns and 60 RBI’s
