In the presser after Jared Porter was fired for sharing lewd pictures to a foreign reporter, one of the questions asked was if Sandy was considering promoting Zack to the GM position. Sandy responded by saying that’s an option they have to consider but needed to check with Zack first.

As the Acting GM, I expect Zack to get a test run and if he performs to the Mets standards (and if no skeletons are revealed) before they consider him for a permanent GM role next season. For now, I hope that the Mets can continue to make moves to improve the season by addressing the needs (LHP relief pitcher, adding another starting pitcher, and defensive upgrades at CF) before the start of the 2021 season.
