While we thought the Mets would move on with Alderson taking over the role, at least temporarily, it apparently might be super temporary.
Joel Sherman is reporting that Alderson and the Mets are discussing a deal for Jared Porter to take over the General Manager position.
Porter was formerly the Senior VP as well as the assistant GM to the Arizona Diamondbacks and is said to have been mentored by Theo Epstein. He’s also served as an Executive with Chicago and Boston.
The praises for Porter are high right now in the midsts of this hiring, however we’ll see how well he works with Sandy Alderson and even new owner Steve Cohen.
The contract for Porter is said to be for four years.
More news to come soon!!
