Mets have signed Jarred Robinson to a minor league deal. After losing two Robinsons and two Jareds lately the Mets had to add a new one.
In all seriousness Robinson is a bullpen arm that works mostly with his fastball/slider combo. His fastball will reach 97 and he is a strikeout guy. Over 70 innings in 2019, he struck out 97.
In 155 career minor league outings for Cleveland, he has pitched to a 3.87 ERA over 383.
In 2019 he was very good between 3 levels (3.34 ERA/1.30 WHIP/ 12.5K/9). However his walks per nine was pretty high at 4.5 per nine. He also struggled in AAA in limited time.
Mets need depth in the upper levels and these are the moves they should make. 26 year old with strikeout stuff is a type of arm, you could take a change on. If he is pitching well in the minors, we could see him up when needed.
