David Peterson is a Mets hidden treasure

By Angelina Heather Rizzo

New York Mets rookie pitcher David Peterson is shining in his debut season so far. Here’s a few reasons to be optimistic given his performance in a few stellar outings.

Peterson, who is 24 years old, is sporting a 2.91 ERA, is 3-1 on the season, has a 1.15 WHIP, and has 17 strikeouts in a mere 4 games pitched.

Peterson is exactly the type of pitcher you want on the mound these days. His quality starts have Mets fans excited for his future.

The Mets are in need of their pitching to step up, especially with Noah Syndergaard out. Jacob DeGrom remains the ace of the team, but who knows, maybe one day Peterson will develop into something very special. So far, he’s promising.

In the grand scheme of things, Peterson is a promising young hurler. Rookies are always fun to watch, and who knows, you could be looking at a potential second ace in him one day.
