Michael Conforto on COVID

New York Mets outfielder Michael Conforto was staying in Arizona before there was a spike in COVID cases and commented about making it out.

“I was lucky to get out of there before they started going back on their opening and lucky obviously to get out of there without a positive test when I showed up here.”

“Obviously it’s something that we worry about. It’s part of the reason why we’re going above and beyond these protocols. … The healthier your team can stay really increases your chances of winning games.”

Conforto also said that Mets GM Brodie Van Wagenen has been walking around Citi Field and reminding people of staying six-feet apart, the outfielder even said that the GM prefers 10-feet.
