The New York Mets and veteran outfielder Melky Cabrera have agreed to a one year deal. The left handed outfielder and former Yankees prospect will also be added to the 2020 Player Pool.
Cabrera, an All-Star in 2012, hit .280/.313/.399 with seven homers and 43 RBI’s in 133 games with the Pittsburgh Pirates last season.
Throughout his 15 year career, Cabrera has slashed at a .285/.334/.417 clip and could be a viable left handed bat coming off of the bench at 35 years old.
