On Thursday, the New York Mets sent Rick Porcello to the mound in Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium to take on Adam Wainwright and the Cardinals in another exhibition game.
Porcello would pitch three innings while giving up just two hits and walking one. The Morristown, New Jersey native also struck out four batters in his three frames.
Porcello will be battling the likes of Steven Matz and Michael Wacha for the fourth and fifth spots in the Mets rotation.
Twenty five year old outfielder Johneshwy Fargas hit for the cycle and went 4-4 with two runs scored, two RBI’s, and collected his third stolen base of the spring.
