The New York Mets have decided to extend the $17.8MM qualifying offer to right handed starting pitcher Zack Wheeler.
Zack Wheeler has 10 days to decide to accept or decline the offer. After putting up a season in which he was 11-8 with a 3.96 ERA while striking out 195 batters in 195.1 innings pitched over the span of 31 starts, he’s likely to decline the offer in order to test the market and get the best deal possible.
