Tuesday Night Lineup: Mets vs Rockies

  1. Nimmo CF
  2. McNeil LF
  3. Alonso 1B
  4. Canó 2B
  5. Ramos C
  6. Conforto RF
  7. Frazier 3B
  8. Rosario SS
  9. Stroman RHP

With the New York Mets currently behind in the Wild Card standings by 5.0 games and after a difficult loss last night in Colorado, the Mets look to even the series on Tuesday night at Coors Field.

The Colorado Rockies will send Tim Melville to the hill, a rookie right hander who’s sporting a 5.16 ERA, a 1.54 WHIP and 20 strikeouts in 22.2 innings pitched. Melville gave up four home runs to the St. Louis Cardinals his last time out.

Michael Conforto has definitely had a nice but quiet season for the Orange & Blue however, the Mets really need his left handed bat to step it up while in the middle of this lineup. Conforto is hitting just .182/.280/.364 in his last seven games and these aren’t statistics that are going to lead the Mets to a championship.

Brandon Nimmo is hitting .308/.357/.654 in six career games at Coors Field, so it’ll be interesting to see how the Mets align the outfield, not just for this series but for the remainder of the season, as well.

The last time Marcus Stroman went to the mound, the Long Island native was able to take the game into the seventh inning before being removed. The Mets could definitely use a similar outing from the sinker ball pitcher, it’ll be of obvious importance for Stroman to keep the ball low in the zone while pitching in Colorado’s thin air.

Stroman is currently 8-13 with an ERA of 3.35, a 1.34 WHIP while striking out 142 batters in 166.2 innings pitched.
