The New Mets and Philadelphia Phillies look to finish off the series tonight in which the Orange & Blue and starting pitcher Marcus Stroman are looking to secure the sweep over the Phillies. While the Phillies are only 3.5 games back, the Mets will look to jump them in the standings as they’re just 0.5 game behind Philadelphia.
Wilson Ramos in my eyes is one of two extremely under appreciated Mets in the eyes of the fanbase, the other being Justin Wilson. Ramos extended a 24 game hitting streak yesterday, currently the longest one in the Majors all year. In 120 games and 405 at-bats, Ramos is hitting .299/.360/.427/.787 with 13 doubles, 13 home runs, 46 runs scored and 66 runs driven in.
Marcus Stroman will take the mound looking to help the Mets secure the sweep, however he’s also looking turn around his own skid since donning the Orange & Blue. Stroman told reporters after his last outing, “I have to be better.”
So far during the 2019 campaign, Stroman owns a 7-12 record with a 3.29 ERA, a 1.30 WHIP to go along with 124 strikeouts in 150.1 innings pitched.
Tonight’s game will unfortunately only be televised on ESPN, so brave yourselves Mets fans. First pitch will take place at 7:05 PM EST in Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park.
