After a long time on the shelf with a bulging disc in he young outfielder’s neck, the New York Mets will finally activate Brandon Nimmo from the 60-Day Injured List. Since the move comes on the first of September, the Mets will not need to clear room as the rosters expand to a 40-man, starting today.
In a small sample size with the Major League club this season, Nimmo is batting .200/.344/.323/.667 with seven doubles, three home runs, 20 runs scored as well as 14 runs driven in. The outfielder has only played in 43 games while accruing just 130 at-bats.
Nimmo came into Spring Training extremely confident after coming off of a 2018 season in which he broke out and hit .263/.404/.483/.886 with 28 doubles, eight triples, 17 home runs with 47 RBI’s and 77 runs scored in 140 games played.
