Syracuse Mets infielder Dilson Herrera has opted out of his contract with the New York Mets and enter Free Agency.
With a bench that’s very deep, Herrera likely feels he’ll get better playing time with another Major League club and hopefully get recognized and considered for the 2020 season. This will be the second time this season Herrera has opted out of his contract with the Mets.
Herrera was batting .248/.330/.501/.832 with 24 home runs and 64 RBI’s in 407 at-bats and 117 games played with Syracuse.
