Former New York Mets second baseman and current Long Island Ducks manager Wally Backman was arrested this morning due to a domestic dispute with a woman as police responded to a report right before 8 AM this morning.
Backman is being charged with second-degree harassment and fourth-degree criminal mischief. The manager will have to report back to court on September 22nd.
Long Island Ducks president and general manager put out this statement after the incident, “We are aware of the incident involving Wally and are in the process of gathering information,” Pfaff said. “We will have no further comment at this time.”
