After winning an insane game last night via a walk-off hit by J.D. Davis in the bottom half of the 10th inning, the Mets will look to sweep the Cleveland Indians on Thursday night.

The Indians will send rookie right hander Aaron Civale to the bump after pitching a quality game against the Yankees in the Bronx, last Friday night. He would eventually take the loss while giving up only two runs to the heavy hitting “Bronx Bombers”.

Civale owns a 1-2 win/loss record with a 1.50 ERA, a 0.96 WHIP, alongside 22 strikeouts in only 24.0 innings pitched.

J.D. Davis has been the hottest hitter in the National League since the All-Star break, it doesn’t hurt him or the Mets that the .300+ hitter can also drive the ball 470 feet away with his tremendous power. Last night the slugger drove in the walk-off run to keep the New York Mets as one of the hottest teams in the second half, if not one of them, then they are the hottest.

Noah Syndergaard will look to help the Orange & Blue secure the sweep and the Mets have the right man on the mound. Syndergaard has posted a 1.65 ERA with 25 strikeouts over his last four starts, three of which the Mets won.

Overall, Thor is 8-6 with a 3.86 ERA, a 1.21 WHIP, while striking out 151 batters in 154.0 innings pitched.

The Mets are currently 1.5 behind the St. Louis Cardinals for the second Wild Card spot. Tonight’s contest will be aired on SNY but will also be nationally televised on ESPN at 7:10 P.M. EST.
