Well, Ruben Tejada’s return to Flushing, Queens will be short lived as the Mets have designated the infielder for assignment this afternoon. In return, the Mets will call up pitcher Chris Flexen, however the big picture out of all this may be that Jed Lowrie could be close to joining the Mets 25-man roster for the first time.

He finally played a rehab game yesterday and looked good running. I hope he can bring something to the table in September but if you were to be right, I wouldn’t be surprised.
